Oh Baby!

Here's my first post about......our expected offspring!

Yes, as you all already know, Corey and I are expecting our first baby on May 21st! I guess I'm finally ready to tell the world I'm pregnant, besides, I can't really hide it anymore because my waist has definitely increased a few inches. Although we weren't 100% prepared for this, we are extremely excited and nervous all at the same time, as I'm sure every soon-to-be first time parents are. I have all faith that Corey and I will be fabulous parents and that this will be the most exciting and important adventure of our lives. So here's a few pictures of the journey so far...

The infamous positive test! Corey didn't initially believe it was accurate because the 2nd line wasn't as dark as the first line, but a quick look at the instructions showed him he wouldn't be getting out of it that easy!

"Uh oh...this poor kid has it in for himself (or herself)"

The Edlund's come to Chicago!

Our friends Geoff & Brooke came down from Seattle to come and visit us! We had an amazing time with them and wish they would consider moving to Chicago! Ted & Carol were very nice to lend us their scooter and we took our guests on a scooter tour of the city. Saturday night we met up with one of my old roommates from ASU, Danielle. Dinner at Terragusto and then Messner's to watch the ASU game! Sunday, Geoff & Brooke went to the Bears game. What a fun weekend!

Geoff & Brooke are now Rudy & Tilly's Godparents, the dogs just loved them. It pays to show up with doggie treats!

Carol & Ted Tie the Knot!

Ok, these pictures are long overdue, but I've had such a hard time deciding which ones to post and I had to steal some from friends cuz it's hard to take pictures when your in the wedding party.

Carol & Ted got married on September 22nd at the Armour House at Lake Forest Academy. It was and absolutely beautiful day and the Bride of course was stunning! Carol definitely pulled off an amazing wedding and I was honored to have been her Matron of Honor. Now that it's all said and done, I'm sure Ted is relieved and we wish them the best as they begin their lives as Mr & Mrs Johnson!

Cubbies Clinch!

Corey and I were down on Clark St Friday night watching the games and having dinner when the Cubbies won and the Brewers lost to make the Cubs the Central Division Champs! We were out on the street the moment they clinched and it was great. The cops had shut down Addison & Clark st and they filled up with all the fans cheering. The sign on Wrigley instantly read "Chicago Cubs 2007 National League Central Division Champions!" So we stood out in front of Wrigley with Johnny Woo Woo and the rest of the fans for a bit and joined in on the celebration, we think Corey ended up on WGN. Now they have to get ready to play the Arizona D-backs...that'll be a fun one for me to watch, I admit I was a D-backs fan when I was in AZ, but my heart was always in Chicago...(can you tell I'm a fair weather fan when it comes to Baseball!)

I didn't have my Camera but here is a pic I took with my cell phone! Didn't turn out so great.

Carol's Bachelorette Weekend

We went up to Galena, IL for Carol's last hurrah! We stayed at one of the bridesmaid's parent's vacation house in EagleRidge and it was absolutely beautiful there. It was a great weekend of girly bonding. We rented a pontoon boat on Saturday and I was lucky enough to get to drive it! That turned out great! The Boat Boy, as we called him, had to jump on the boat from the dock to rescue us cuz I couldn't get it into it's parking spot and kept bumping into the dock! The boat was old and tough to steer....I'm not that bad of a driver :-) After that fiasco, we dropped off Carol at the spa to get a facial and then we set up a Fiesta back at the house in honor of her Honeymoon in Mexico. Then we spent the night eating, drinking and having a dance party out on the porch...we must have woken up the neighborhood!

The Bride safely back on land! See the Boat Boy in the back.

Catch Up!

Well so much for being good about updating...although I do have a good excuse, our internet has been down since the storms so I haven't been able to upload any pictures until now and I'm sure no one wanted to just read what we've been up to, they want pictures! So here we go... a few posts to catch up.

Labor Day Weekend

This past weekend was a great chance for Corey and I to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather. We BBQ'd on Friday night with our buddies Ted & Carol, played a few hours of beach volleyball at North Avenue Beach, took the dogs to Oz park (Rudy's old stomping ground) and saw "Super Bad" which was hilarious!

Here are a few pics from our trip to Oz Park

Mia's 1st Birthday Party

We had a great time seeing everyone and celebrating Mia's first birthday...the decorations were absolutely adorable!

I LOVED the rubber ducky cake that Becky made. I don't want to know how long that took!

I think Mia was disappointed she didn't get to dig into that duck cake!
