COUNT DOWN!!!!

Ahhhhh, ok, I just freaked out when I looked at my little count down ticker and saw only 29 days left until my due date. I also freaked out this afternoon when a co-worker reminded me that I was only 1 week away from full term and that some of them had their children at 37 weeks!!!! No, I refuse...4 weeks to go, I WILL make it to 40 weeks (ask me if I feel that way in 2 weeks!)

As you might have noticed, Corey and I are rapidly approaching the end of this wonderful journey called pregnancy. I actually have been feeling very good, probably the best of the entire pregnancy. I have a lot of energy for most of the day, am still pretty mobile, am getting good sleep and I think I'm hanging in quite well emotionally. I'm mostly very giggly and silly and have been pretty optimistic...but who knows when all that will come crashing down and I start screaming "Get this BABY OUT!!!"

I'm now also in full "nesting" mode and am making my way through the entire house analyzing every inch to see what we can get rid of, what I can re-organize and what I can sell on Craig's List. Corey has had to make lots of trips to the dumpster and our storage unit which is reaching (or may have already reached) max capacity. But, we are making progress, and with just a few more items left on the list, we are pretty much ready for baby!

We attended our birthing class this past Saturday at the hospital called "Great Expectations". It was way more informative than I had expected and I'm very glad Corey was there to remember all the details cuz it was way too much for me to take in all at once. It was also very comforting for me, I ended the day of learning feeling confident that Corey and I will get through all this craziness just fine and we might even do a good job at it!!!

Hello friends!

So sorry I haven't updated in forever...I've had lots of pics on my camera but couldn't find the cord to upload them to the computer! But it's found, all's good and here's an update on what we've been up to the last month!

Make Room For Baby!

The time has come to completely clear out our second bedroom and turn it into the baby's room. Carol came over the day after St. Patty's day (bless her!) and helped me paint the room. I wore a very sexy face mask so I wouldn't inhale any bad fumes. It did a great job of keeping out the fumes, but I could barely breathe with that thing on!

We've moved in all the furniture and have started organizing the baby gear. I've definitely entered the "nesting" phase and must have something to do to prepare for Baby G at all times or I start to panic that we won't be ready. So I've been spending about a 1/2 hour a day in the baby's room arranging and planning...it keeps me sane! It's also been lots of fun opening all our shower gifts and setting all the gear up...it's taking a while to figure out how to use all this stuff!

Bugs, Butterflies & Baby G

Lisa, Kris, Pam and Carol all got together and threw me the best baby shower a preggers could ask for! They had such great food, amazing decorations and yummy yummy desserts! Thank you guys so much! Also, thank you to all those who joined us for the festivities. And for those of you who came in from out of town, a special thanks, it really meant a lot to me and Corey.

Entering the realm of the 3rd trimester!!!

12 weeks to go until the 40 week deadline. I don't think I've ever felt more confused before as far as having no patience for these 12 weeks to be over mixed with wanting them to last a lot longer! But, it's time to get our act together and start the final preparations for this little guy that will come and take over our lives. There's a lot to do...turn our 2nd bedroom, which is currently an all purpose room, into baby mecca...reorganize our little home to make room for everything that needs to be removed from the all purpose room...round up all the gadgets & gizmos we'll need to carry, feed, transport and play with the baby...pick out a name!!!...attend some birthing & breastfeeding classes...make some decisions on daycare options...and just prepare mentally for all that's to come.

As far as little Baby G is doing...he is constantly reminding me that he is in my belly hanging out and growing stronger every day. I'm amazed at how much I feel him move, and if this is any indication as to how he'll be outside of the womb...we are in for it! He likes to wake me up a lot in the middle of the night by snuggling up to one of my organs and using it as a punching bag. Corey was finally able to see him moving from the outside, it took some patience and a lot of starring at my tummy, but it's pretty cool to see!

I have another doc appt next week and then I get to start going every 2 weeks...luckily, I just have to walk down the street from my office to the doctors office so it's very convenient.

I haven't been a big fan of taking pictures of my pregnant self, but here are some pics at 27 weeks. I apologize for the awkwardness of the full pic of me, I have yet to find a flattering angle and felt extremely uncomfortable, but you are all more than welcome to lie to me and tell my how cute I look and how I'm "glowing" :-)

Tyler in Chicago

Kris & Mike brought Tyler with them to Chicago this past weekend when they came in for Pam's birthday party. It was Tyler's first trip to Chicago and we were so glad he was able to stop by our place for a quick visit.
